The annual Juneteenth Celebration of New Bern is a vibrant community event that honors African American heritage. This multi-day community collaborative event features a parade, festival, fireworks, and more to create an atmosphere of joy and reflection that brings together residents and visitors to commemorate freedom, promote unity, and benefit the community as a whole. We invite residents and tourists to bring their families out to enjoy a festival celebration with local and regional vendors, a youth basketball tournament, live music (DJ and a band) and food from 12-4 PM along Broad St. and Roundtree St. There will also be STEM vendors, a youth chalk contest, a Kids Korner with inflatables and water slides, cornhole boards, jump ropes, essay contest winners, free books, food, and more for over 800 visitors and attendees. A fantastic fireworks finale at the historical Stanley White Rec. demolition site will conclude the day's celebration at Henderson Park at sundown.
