Christmas in the Park and Lighting of the Town

Like stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting, Blowing Rock is the destination if you want to experience a picturesque small town Christmas. Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Blowing Rock was named one of "America's Prettiest Winter Towns" by Travel and Leisure Magazine. Family traditions are born here as it is a great place to make holiday memories while shopping, dining, taking in the lights and music of the season and even choosing and cutting your own Christmas tree.

Taking place annually the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas in the Park centers around Memorial Park in the heart of the town. Enjoy live music and caroling, sip on hot chocolate and cider, while waving at hayride passengers, visiting with Santa and strolling to the shops all decked out for the holidays. Festivities begin at 12 pm and culminate with the Mayor's lighting of the Town Tree and Memorial Park at 5:30 pm! If you need more holiday cheer, the next morning the Christmas Parade starts at 10 am on Main Street.
