There’s no place quite like Sparta in the fall. Tucked into the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, our little town glows as the leaves change and the air turns crisp. It’s during this season that Sparta truly shines—and there’s no better time to visit than for the Blue Ridge Mountain Heritage Festival. This year marks 30 years of celebrating mountain music, craft, and community.Join us Saturday, September 20, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM for a vibrant showcase of Appalachian heritage. Local artisans will offer hand-carved wood, pottery, quilts, baskets, and homemade jams. Main Street will be alive with toe-tapping mountain music, and food trucks will serve everything from BBQ to kettle corn. Admission and parking are free. While you’re here, explore downtown Sparta, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Doughton Park. Whether you stay for the day or the weekend, we’d love to share this special place we call home.
