Southport Wooden Boat Show

The 15th annual Southport Wooden Boat Show is an opportunity to view wooden boats of all shapes and sizes displayed in and around the historic Old Yacht Basin in Southport. Visitors will be able to meet and talk with the wooden boat makers and owners, and also vote for their favorite boat. The event features nautical and maritime arts & crafts vendors, nautical and maritime demonstrations, children's activities and exhibits along the waterfront, and a model boat exhibit. A visit to this historic maritime town takes you back into a distant past of pirates and privateers, antebellum Southern belles and blockade runners. Seafarers have been frequenting this community since as far back as the early 1500s, and today, Southport is as popular as it has ever been. Don't miss your chance to stroll through the friendly streets and stop in the boutique shops and local art galleries, or wander around the docks and have a crab-cake sandwich or steamed shrimp at one of several restaurants featuring outdoor dining on the waterfront.
