New Bern Resolves - 251st Anniversary

The first Provincial Congress to be held in America in open defiance of royal authority was conducted in New Bern in August 1774. The resulting Resolves were issued in response to the unjust taxes and laws, and were a significant contribution to the American Revolutionary movement.
