The world's most "Marvtastic" festival returns to Winston-Salem in 2024 with a new name and some thrilling new offerings. Known for decades as the National Black Theatre Festival, the event was recently rebranded to the International Black Theatre Festival (IBTF) to reflect its increasingly global appeal.

Now in its 18th biennial year, the festival will feature more than 100 theatrical performances in venues throughout the city, from new works to Black classics and more. In addition to the electric shows, you will experience riveting films, cutting-edge spoken word poetry, engaging youth programming, informative workshops, insightful academic discussions, and a vendor's market steeped in the African Diaspora. It all adds up to one of the country's biggest and most impactful theatre festivals.
