Yadkin Valley Pumpkin Festival

The Yadkin Valley Pumpkin Festival is held annually in Historic Downtown Elkin, on the fourth Saturday in September from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event kicks off with the renowned Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off at 257 Standard Street, where growers from across the East Coast showcase their massive pumpkins and watermelons—some weighing over 1,500 pounds—vying for top honors in the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth rankings.

Main Street transforms into a bustling marketplace featuring over 200 vendors offering antiques, handcrafted items, functional pottery, wood furnishings, and seasonal treats like pumpkin butter and baked goods. Attendees can enjoy live music, a wide variety of food like BBQ and funnel cakes, and a Kid Zone with bounce houses, a petting zoo, and pony rides. With its family-friendly atmosphere and small-town charm, the Yadkin Valley Pumpkin Festival is the perfect way to celebrate the fall season.
