Located in the former railroad station depot, the Border Belt Farmers Museum houses a variety of interesting agriculturally related exhibits and memorabilia focusing on tobacco, textiles, lumber, and general farming life. The museum also features noteworthy former citizens such as Tobacco Sales Supervisor Charlie Stafford and native son Joseph Mitchell, who became a writer for "The New Yorker" magazine and a celebrated author.
