Matt Evans and his team are passionate guides who grew up in NC and have been fishing the surrounding creeks and rivers their entire lives. Targeting trout and smallmouth bass, they have spent countless days on the water and look forward to sharing their local spots with you. By understanding the different needs and preferences of individual clients, each is given an unforgettable fishing experience on and off the water. The Catawba Angler is a catch-and-release-only guide service, believing every fish deserves a second chance. Not only are we are committed to protecting the fish we catch, but preserving the creeks and rivers we fish. The western North Carolina fishery is alive and well, but the livelihood of it is in our hands.
