Attraction
Medoc Mountain State Park
Some of the park’s nearly 30 of hiking trails wander along the creek; others climb several hundred feet to the upper reaches of Medoc Mountain. Roughly ten miles of bridle trails and trailhead parking serve equestrians. The peacefulness gives the opportunity to refresh. The silence of the forest is broken only by bird songs and the occasional drumming of the pileated woodpecker. Anglers and paddlers are drawn to Fishing Creek – considered to be one of the cleanest streams in the region – that flows for about 2.5 miles through the park. Rangers offer free interpretive programs and hikes. Grab your hiking boots. Load your camera. Spend time at Medoc Mountain and let nature renew your spirit.
