The Depot Antiques

Long on history, this one-of-a-kind building was built by the Raleigh & Gaston Railroad in 1863 on an important rail line to Richmond and was in active use until 1960. Built of hand-hewn cypress you can see the axe & saw marks on huge beams…see the pegs that have held this structure together for 153 years and marvel at the incredible hand cut joints throughout the structure. Best of all, owner Bill Frazier is here to show you the pieces of history still remaining throughout the depot such as the original phone, the agent's office, ticket office and historical graffiti. While you're taking in the history, browse the incredible collection of antiques, most from area estates & farms, for sale. Come walk the boards where Robert E. Lee walked in March 1870 on his visit to Warren County to see his daughter Annie Carter Lee's grave. Truly a historic treasure not to be missed.
