North Carolina Veterans Park
Located next to the Airborne & Special Operations Museum, the North Carolina Veteran’s Park is the first park in the state dedicated to military veterans from all branches of the armed services: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard! The 3,500-square-foot chandelier is made from 33,500 “dog tags” (service member identification tags).
Outside the Visitors Center is the North Carolina Soils Wall, built with soil collected from the state’s 100 counties. The Community Lawn area features the Story Garden, which is an interactive structure where you can listen to touching personal accounts of veterans’ military experiences and their lives today.
