An unfinished road where the pavement turns to dirt on the backside of the tunnel. A road that was supposed to give alternative passage to those who lived in Charleston, who’s homes were flooded in the 1940’s during the construction of the Fontana Dam. Sure, Hanging Rock State Park is known for some great views, but it has some great waterfalls too! Before I started a the hike up to Cook’s Wall, I took the short trail down to the Upper Cascades Falls.
